Bronze Urli – BU00018
South India (Kerala), Urli. They all date from the 17th century onward and probably into the 19th century. Made in bronze, or bell metal, via the single casting in a lost wax process (Cire Perdue) where the mold is made in wax and cast, afterwards the mold is broken or “lost” and the object emerges.
It was used before to cook food to serve gods. Now it is ideal to put flowers and floating candles and use it as a perfect indoor/outdoor decoration.
