Thailand, bronze Rattanakosin Buddha, period 1800-1820, rama 2nd. The Buddha standing on octagonal base with hands in abhaya mudra (“mudra of no fear”) represents protection, peace, benevolence and dispelling of fear. He wears a lotus ornamented crown around the flaming usnisha which signifies his attainment of pristine enlightened consciousness, decorated with jeweled earrings, necklaces, armbands, bracelets and girdle. His face bears a gentle smile. A rare pieces.
